FEBRUARY 2, 2001 The New England Coalition for Justice and Community Understanding, a group funded by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut, is eagerly awaiting a decision today by the United Nations Enviroment Program to hold a children's environmental conference in Ledyard. The coalition is collaborating with the International Education Resource Network of New York in hoping to bring the conference to southeastern Connecticut. The conference would draw more than 1,000 students from throughout the world and the tribe hopes to hold some of the activities at its own facilities. Get the Story:
