Murkowski to propose Arctic drilling bill

FEBRUARY 9, 2001

Senator Frank Murkowski (R-Alaska) plans on introducing legislation next week that will open up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska to oil drilling.

The bill also addresses larger energy policy goals of the Bush administration. Murkowski is the Chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
