A lawyer representing Indians from Ecuador and Peru said he plans to appeal a federal judge's decision to dismiss their case against oil giant Texaco.

A federal judge in New York said the lawsuits belong in Ecuadorean courts. Cristobal Bonifaz, a native of Ecuador, will challenge the ruling because he says the court system there is corrupt.

The Indians claim Texaco poisoned the rain forest during 28 years of development.
