The US Department of Agriculture this week held a workshop aimed at helping the government work better with and consult with tribes on decisions which affect land use in Indian Country.

The three-day conference is the only one of its kind, said an employee with the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service. Its purpose is to help employees carry out the consultation policy of the USDA.
