AUGUST 16, 2000 With 60 fire fighters on the lines and 100 waiting to go, the tribal crew of the Spirit Lake Tribe in North Dakota has been battling some of the worst blazes in the West. Fire training classes in Montana have been full and the tribe may offer its own to handle the overflow. Fire fighters are required to undergo a three-day training course before entering the fire lines and must get two days of rest after two weeks of work. Get the Story:
