FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2001 Vandals have destroyed a rare rock art painting near Moab, Utah, called the Blue Buffalo. The art is unique because of its blue coloring and because it depicts a buffalo. It is also rare because Utes painted it in the early 1800s. The vandalism was discovered this past weekend. Since the art was located on public land, the crime is punishable by federal law and carries a maximum penalty of two years in jail and a $20,000 fine. Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Bureau of Land Management at 800.722.3998. Get the Story:
