Federal and state officials, along with conservationists, last Thursday voiced objections about a Wyoming rancher's proposal to graze bison instead of cattled on federal land in the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

State officials are worried the bison may transfer brucellosis, a deadly disease, to cattle. Conservationists say the rancher could open his herd up to hunting.
