SEPTEMBER 26, 2000 The National Marine Fisheries Service on Sunday observed four killer whales stage a careful attack on a beluga whale, who first separated the beluga from its pod before beating it to death. The NFMS witnessed the attack while on a regular patrol for dead or stranged beluga. Beluga are not endagered, but are depleted in Cook Inlet, Alaska. Get the Story:
