Trapped bald eagle put to sleep

Veterinarians at Tufts University in Massachusetts have put to sleep an American bald eagle who was rescued from the clutches of a hunter's trap.

The eagle was discovered December 3 in Maine with its leg caught in a trap meant for coyotes. Veterinarians were unabel to stop an infection from spreading through the eagle's body after amputating its leg.
