A federal judge on Tuesday questioned whether the Bush administration took serious a lawsuit seeking to make public records of the president's energy task force.

The lawsuit was filed by a public interest group seeking to find out who met with the task force, which was chaired by Vice President Dick Cheney. As part of the suit, U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan ordered the White House not to destroy any documents related to the development of the energy policy.

The lawsuit is separate from one the General Accounting Office is set to file.
