A large crowd turned out to a meeting on Wednesday to discuss a proposed landfill opponents fear would damage Indian burial grounds.

About 2,000 people turned out for the zoning hearing, according to the Associated Press. Most opposed the landfill and said it could damage not just the mounds but hurt water supplies and lower property values.
