TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2002

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection has completed an analysis of the Mohegan Tribe's proposed fishery.

The state is urging the tribe scale back its venture to address local concerns. Fishermen and boaters have raised objections to the tribe's plan to place lobster traps and other equipment in federal and state waters.

The state hasn't approved any permits for the tribe's plan yet. It is waiting on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to act.
