More Mi'kmaq loggers arrested

Five Big Cove First Nation loggers were arrested in New Brunswick for cutting down trees outside of the Nation's reserve. An interim logging agreement between the province and Big Cove had been reached but the Department of Natural Resources and Energy said the men were harvesting outside of the agreed area. Last week, a court upheld the conviction of another Mi'kmaq logger, Joshua Bernard for illegaly harvesting timber. A similar logging case is underway in Nova Scotia. Get the Story:
