Budget would cut benefit to women

The proposed fiscal year 2002 budget would end required contraceptive health care coverage for 1.2 million female employees of the federal government.

Currently, all 250 health care plans serving federal employees must offer to pay for five types of birth control for women. The policy was instituted in 1998.
