Native corporation loses health care bid

The Ketchikan Indian Corporation lost a bid to have health care for Ketchikan natives moved from Sitka to a hospital in Ketchikan. The Indian Health Service (IHS) ruled that the Mount Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka will continue to receive funding to care for Ketchikan natives. The Corporation will appeal the ruling to the Department of the Interior. Get the Story:
