APRIL 25, 2000 Budget restraints have cost the positions of seven and may lead to 13 more at the Claremore Indian Hospital in Claremore. The hospital serves 16 tribes in a 14-county area in Eastern Oklahoma as well as patients outside the area. The Cherokee and Creek Nations are the most frequent users of the hospital, which was built in 1977. The hospital expects to see a $1.4 million deficit. The Oklahoma City office of the Indian Health Service will decide which positions will be cut. Get the Story:
