MAY 8, 2000 A fire burned out of control at Bandelier National Monument, threatening the town of Los Alamos as well as the Los Alamos National Laboratories. The Monument is an historic Pueblo site. Only critical employees of the lab are to return to work, said LANL officials. LANL Employees are urged to call the lab's Update Phone Line at (505) 667-6622 for the latest.
