SEPTEMBER 5, 2000 Presidential candidate George W. Bush is proposing a $158 billion plan to strengthen Medicare, help senior citizens pay for all or part of of Medicare premiums, and subsidize prescription drug costs for the elderly. Al Gore has proposed $253 billion over 10 years to add a prescription drug benefit to Medicare. Get the Story:
