The Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma has begun plans to replace its 73-year-old clinic, noting that the tribe still needs to find funding to build the 67,000-square-foot facility.

The tribe has already received $1.7 million in federal funds to help design the clinic. The tribe is expecting $5 million more to start the first phase of construction.

In total, between $17 million and $20 million is needed, says the tribe. The tribe wants to open the clinic in December 2003.
