Guilty plea in IHS drug fraud case

TUESDAY, JANUARY 29, 2002 A Montana woman pleaded guilty in federal court on Monday to six counts of possession of controlled substances by fraud or misrepresentation. Joyce La Forge, 52, admitted filing prescriptions for a painkiller drug written by a nurse practitioner at the Indian Health Service hospital on the Crow Reservation. She will be sentenced May 8. The nurse, Denise Willet, faces charges along with five others. Get the Story:
