Suit planned for death at nursing home

FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 2002 The family of a 70-year-old man who died at a nursing home owned by the Blackfeet Nation of Montana is planning legal action in the case. Robert Baker died in February of burns suffered as a result of his cigarette smoking. The state Department of Public Health and Human Service said he was involved in previous smoking mishaps. The state has ordered the home to improve its smoking procedures or risk losing its Medicare and Medicaid funding. It also recommended the nursing home be fined $3,000.
