The Navajo Nation council last week voted to allow three health care facilities to contract health services from the Indian Health Service.

Facilities in Tuba City, Arizona; Winslow, Arizona and Utah would be able to enter into 638 self-determination contracts, the council said. The vote was 44-11.

Previously, the council defeated a measure to allow all Navajo health facilities to takeover services from the IHS.
