The Associated Press on Thursday reported that the final two Army bases in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas are almost completely closed.

The bases, located in Guadalupe Tepeyac and Rio Eusebio, are the last of seven bases which the Zapatista Indian rights movement have demanded by closed. President Vicente Fox agreed to close them to further talks with the group.

The bases will be turned into community centers for Tojolabal Indians.
