JUNE 26, 2001 Venezuelan authorities on Monday sent Vladimiro Montesinos, Peru's former intelligence chief, back to his home country to face charges of gun running, money laundering, human rights violations and collaborating with drug traffickers. After eight months on the lam, Montesinos was captured through the efforts of the United States, Peru, and Venezuela, where he was captured. Get the Story:
