Despite being critical of his decision to pull out of a global warming treaty, G-8 leaders had praise for President Bush as the summit wrapped up in Italy on Sunday.

The warm words came even as the leaders failed to come to an agreement on global warming. They issued a communique stating their positions in a number of areas including poverty and AIDS but only wrote "there is currently disagreement" on the Kyoto Protocol which Bush has rejected.

The G-8 summit, held in Genoa, was marred by violent clashes betweenpolice and protesters. In what is being considered self-defense, police shot and killed one protester in the head on Friday.

The Group of Eight is composed of the United States, Japan, Great Britain, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Russia.
