About 330 Tzotzil Indians began returning home to their villages in the Mexican state of Chiapas after fleeing because of a 1997 massacre.

Paramilitary forces linked to former President Ernest Zedillo have been blamed for the Acteal massacre. Some 45 Indians were killed.

Some are still refusing to return to their homes, fearing attacks.
