A Republican-drafted report linking the Irish Republican Army to leftists rebels in Colombia was criticized at a House hearing on Wednesday.

Democrats and Republicans on the House International Relations Committee questioned the report, which argues the U.S. must expand aid to Colombia to prevent expansion of terrorism. Some witnesses said they had no evidence of IRA ties to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) while the chairman of Colombia's joint chiefs of staff said there was proof.
