OCTOBER 11, 2000 A Bureau of Indian Affairs employee who pleaded guilty to one count of filing a fraudulent claim has been given probation and ordered to pay restitution to the BIA. Oscar T. Poolaw was given three years probation for misusing his government-issued credit card. He was also ordered to pay $6,559 in restitution. Credit card abuse by BIA employees has been the subject of an ongoing government investigation. Some employees have been fired and disciplined. Get the Story:
