OCTOBER 12, 2000 The Missisquoi Abenaki Tribe of Vermont are asking a state superior court to stop construction of homes in Highgate because up to 40 to 80,000 human remains may be located in a sacred burial ground. The tribe wants a temporary ban on new construction so they can work with the town and the state to resolve the issue. Get the Story:
