MARCH 8, 2001 The leaders of three Connecticut towns who are expected to meet with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation to discuss land issues didn't get the phone call from Chairman Kenneth Reels as expeced on Wednesday. Reels was expected to notify them on the tribal council's decision to attend the meeting. The council planned on voting to accept the terms of the March 12 engagement, which include a request by the towns to make it public and an uninvitation to Tom Tureen, an Indian rights lawyer.
