Treaty rights heat up

As tensions mount over dam-breaching proposals on the Columbia River, groups opposed to tribal hunting and fishing have criticized money spent to buy gill nets for treaty rights fishermen. The Bonneville Power Administration spent $308,000 of salmon recovery money to buy the 9-inch mesh nets.
