Tribe breaks ground on new jail

MAY 15, 2001 The Red Lake Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota broke ground on a new jail facility Monday. The facility replaces the one inmates burned down in 1979. Two days of rioting set off by protests against then Chairman Roger Jourdain resulted in two deaths and $2 million in damages. Get the Story:
