Members of the traditional Six Nation, or Iroquois, Confederacy all have controversial land claims issues at stake. The land claims of the Oneida, Onondaga, Seneca, Cayuga, and Mohawk Nations in New York and Canada date back to the 1700s and 1800s. Some local landowners and politicians fear inevitable changes.
