JUNE 1, 2001 Authorities in Minnesota on Thursday charged a 14-year-old teen with murdering his father and attempting to murder the foster parents of his girlfriend on the Leech Lake Reservation. Beltrami County plans to ask a judge to prosecute Darryl Headbird Jr. as an adult under state law. His 17-year-old girlfriend, Sierra Goodman, is being charged with aiding Headbird in the attempted murder of her foster parents and may also be tried as an adult. Headbird allegedly shot his father in his sleep at their Leech Lake home on Saturday. He allegedly stabbed Goodman's foster parents later in the day. Authorities believe the incidents stem from the adults discouraging the two from dating. Get the Story:
