JUNE 21, 2000 The population of the Rocky Boy Chippewa-Cree Reservation in Montana has grown due to federal welfare reform. Welfare recipients on the reservation can receive benefits for seven years as opposed to two for off-reservation residents. The population of the reservation is about 3,200. The reservation is named for Stone Child, an Ojibwe leader. Get the Story:
