Group wants to change tribal membership

MONDAY, JULY 23, 2001 A group of tribal members of the Flathead Tribes of Montana is looking to change the enrollment policies to get rid of references to blood quantum. Currently, the tribal constitution has a one-fourth blood quantum requirement. The group says this is harmful because it would lead to wiping out of the tribe, theoretically, on paper. Get the Story:
