Texas changes peyote rules

The state of Texas last week enacted stricter regulations on the gathering and sale of peyote, a sacrament of the Native American Church.

In response to tribal leaders who complained that non-Indians were using peyote unlawfully, the state is now limiting the sale of the hallucinogen to members of federally recognized tribes.
