AUGUST 30, 2000 Town leaders of Preston, Ledyard and North Stonington accused the Paucatuck Eastern Pequot Tribe of Connecticut of misleading the public and said the tribe should stop talking about them. The towns made their charges after Chief James A. Cunha Jr said their allegations against Assistant Secretary of Interior Kevin Gover were baseless. The Department of Interior sent the tribe a letter saying they would not investigate allegations made by the towns against Gover. Get the Story:
