AUGUST 3, 2000 In case you haven't been paying attention, add another request for a governmental probe into federal recognition issues; this time the request comes from the Paucatuck Eastern Pequot Tribe of Connecticut. The tribe has written Department of Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt, asking for an investigation into the claims being made by the towns of Ledyard, North Stonington, and Preston.
