SEPTEMBER 6, 2000

The Lac du Flambeau Ojibwe tribe in Wisconsin will be getting a new president next month, since currrent leader Tom Maulson failed to be one of the top two vote getters in a primary held on Tuesday.

Henry St. Germaine, Sr. and Betty Jo Graveen received the most votes and will advance to the final election.

The tribe is currently shopping around an off-reservation casino complex to various municipalities in the state.
