Iowa Tribe has new headquarters

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2001 The Iowa Tribe on Thursday opened its new headquarters in Perkins. The building will serve Chairman Lawrence Murray, the tribe's housing authority and other tribal offices. Construction costs were $300,000, paid for by the tribe's business enterprises. A key part of the building is the nature center, funded through a $41,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Agency. The center will teach about native plants and Iowa culture. Get the Story:
