FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2001 Imprisoned activist Leonard Peliter has asked a federal judge in North Dakota to reduce his life-time prison sentence. Peltier was convicted to two life terms in 1997 for the deaths of two FBI agents. He wants the terms to run concurrently, giving him an earlier chance at parole. Peltier has sought to appeal his case but courts have rejected it. He has also been denied parole as recently as last summer. President Clinton was considering pardoning him but did not.
