A federal judge has sentenced a bootlegger from the Navajo Nation to one year in prison for violating his parole, the U.S. Attorney's office in Arizona said on Tuesday.

Herbert Begay was arrested last August as part of a bootlegging sting on the Navajo reservation. He had pleaded guilty and sentenced to one year of supervised released but a subsequent tribal infraction led U.S. Magistrate Stephen L. Verkamp to send him to jail.
