A federal judge has agreed to let a lawsuit challenging an initial reservation for the Pokagon Potawatomi Tribe of Michigan.

A group called Taxpayers of Michigan Against Casinos (TOMAC) filed suit after the Clinton administration agreed to take 675 acres of land into trust for the tribe, which was recognized by Congress in 1994. The tribe has no land base and hopes to build a casino on a portion of the reservation.

U.S. District Judge James Robertson said the anti-casino group has standing to challenge the decision. He suggested the Clinton administration rushed through an environmental analysis.
