Court urged to stop records move

THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 2002

The special master in the Cobell class action on Wednesday urged a federal judge to stop the transfer or 32,000 boxes of trust fund records.

Alan Balaran said the move was characteristic of the "reckless attitude" of the Office of the Special Trustee. In a report, he urged U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth to put oversight measures in place.
