Suit filed for youth inmates

TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 2002 A lawsuit was filed against the state of Montana by 21 former inmates of a youth detention facility. The suit alleges mistreatment by corrections officers. The inmates say they were pepper-sprayed excessively and were given alcohol and other illicit substances in exchange for sex. The suit also claims discrimination because a a disproportionate number of the inmates are Native. Get the Story:
