THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2001 Three top-level employees of the Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation of Arizona have departed the tribe amid growing discontent among tribal members. General manager Gerald Calnimptewa resigned last week and was the subject of a recall petition. Wayne Halford, manager of the tribe's gravel mining operation, was fired the same day Calnimptewa resigned. He said he was fired due to a dispute with tribal leaders.
