Casino company demands evidence

OCTOBER 4, 2000 Harrah's, the company that manages a casino for the Prairie Band Potawatomi of Kansas, has written the tribal council, demanding they provide evidence of allegations against them. The company is accused of engaging in questionable negotiations with chairwoman Mamie Rupnicki. Allegations surfaced last week involving Rupnicki, who is the focus of a recall effort which has temporarily been stalled. Harrah's said it wants to have the chance to answer the allegations and wants the council to apologize once it is shown that no wrongdoing has been done. Get the Story:
