Apparently indicating the great interest residents of the Connecticut town of North Stonington have in Indian issues, almost twice as many people want to be on a planning committee than there are spots.

A private consultant recommended the town create the committee, which will be composed of 15 residents. But 29 people have volunteered.

Mark Sebastian, vice chairman of the Eastern Pequot Tribe, has volunteered to sit on the committee, as have opponents to the tribe and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. But First Selectman Nicholas H. Mullane II said people should not bring any personal biases on Indian issues to the committee.
