Officials from Park Place Entertainment, the largest gaming company in the world, met with New York state lawmakers on Tuesday to pledge their continued support of an off-reservation casino proposed by the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe.

Critics of Park Place say the company doesn't intend on following through with its plans for the Catskills casino. Although the tribe received approval for the project, it was tied to a specific location and a previous developer.

The tribe then abruptly changed partners to Park Place.
